Dennis Kennedy in his run for Election to Santa Clara Valley Water District Board, DISTRICT 1
Morgan Hill, CA – Dennis Kennedy, the six term former Mayor of Morgan Hill announced at his Kick-off Event that he is running for election to the Santa Clara Valley Water District Director, District 1. This District includes all of South Santa Clara County and portions of Milpitas as well as South San Jose and the Evergreen District of San Jose, California. Dennis was appointed to this position in 2013 by a vote of the current Director Board of Directors after Don Gage, was elected Mayor of Gilroy.
Mr. Kennedy is a registered professional Mechanical and Fluid Systems Engineer. Dennis has been an ardent advocate for the water needs of the South County residential, commercial and farming community for many years. He has served in a variety of capacities in Public Service over the years and has been a resident of Morgan Hill for over 38 years. Among his many Public Services over the years include; Past Chairman of the South County Regional Wastewater Authority, three terms on the Board of Directors of the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), and as past President of the Santa Clara County Cities Association.
His non-profit service to the local community include; The Morgan Hill Downtown Association, the Sisters Cities Committee, the Aquatics Foundation and the Silicon Valley Land Conservancy.
His hobbies include both water and snow skiing, golf, swimming and other outdoor sports activities.
